Taisho Suite – Main Living Room Area

The Taisho living room suite features 2 rooms decorated in the traditional Japanese style of the Taisho era (1912-1926) when Japan was first gaining interest in the west. In addition to Japanese elements, western elements are present such as the piano. Also note the sun porches (engawa) that surround the rooms and the view into the traditional Japanese garden.

Kitchen and Dining Room

A fully-equipped kitchen features a two-burner IH stove, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, toaster, coffeemaker and hot water pot. The dishes are traditional Japanese style and the dining room table can accommodate 6 guests.

Meiji Room Main Floor Bedroom

This bedroom decorated in elements from the Meiji era (1868-1912) features a sun porch (engawa) with views of the Japanese garden, as well as 2 twin beds. Radiated heat keeps the Meiji room warm in the winter months.

Edo Suite, Second floor bedroom

Decorated in period decor from the influential Edo era of Japan (1603-1868) this suite features electric heating/air conditioning, 2 twin beds and a private sitting room which can also be used as a workspace. The Northern Alps can be seen from the north window.

Showa Room, 2nd Floor Bedroom

The Showa era (1926-1989) was Japan’s mid century. Much of the style of this room reflects the Japanese mid-century modern sensibilities. This was an era when Western style and Japanese style began to develop into what is now modern Japan. The room features 2 twin beds, a heater/air conditioner, and a view of the garden and peekaboo view of the northern Alps.

Kitchen

The Nagasawa Villa features a full service kitchen with full size refrigerator/freezer stovetop, microwave, toaster oven, rice cooker, coffee maker and a complete set of dishes and utensils. In addition, we offer a large collection of traditional Japanese dishware and utensils.

Bath suite

We feature a full bath, and large shower area, as well as a washing machine for your laundry. Clean laundry can be dried on the Decorated in period decor from the influential Edo era of Japan (1603-1868) this suite features electric heating/air conditioning, 2 twin beds and a private sitting room which can also be used as a workspace. The Northern Alps can be seen from the north window.
